Cathleen Rodgers

Cathleen is a fully certified Pilates Instructor through the Peak Pilates® Comprehensive Teacher Training Course. She was first introduced to classical Pilates at the Governors School for the Arts high school as part of her weekly strength training for the Dance Department, and knew that someday she would join the Pilates community as an Instructor. Upon discovering Studio BE Pilates in 2016, she knew she had found the perfect opportunity to become an instructor.

Previously, Cathleen was a professional dancer with the Manassas Ballet Theatre for several seasons, and also taught ballet and conditioning classes at various dance studios over the years. She holds a BFA in Dance Performance and a Minor of Psychology from Butler University. Fitness, health, and the arts have been important elements throughout her life, and ultimately inspired her to begin the Peak Pilates® Instructor training. Cathleen loves to help others learn the benefits of Pilates, watch them gain strength, and develop a better sense of well-being. She is honored to work with the wonderful team at BE2 Pilates!

What is your favorite thing about being a Pilates teacher?

Pilates changed the way I danced and the way I perceived myself. I grew stronger and more capable, developing a much higher respect for my body (amongst many other wonderful things). I love teaching others the amazing things their minds and bodies can do, even if it takes time; giving people something to work towards and to feel proud of when they achieve it is so rewarding. I literally get to watch people grow and change before my eyes with each session, which is just amazing. I’ve been so lucky to take my passion for movement from the stage to the Pilates studio — where I can continue to teach others of the magic of moving.

What is the one thing you cannot resist?

Ice cream!! I truly love a good, high quality ice cream or milkshake. Ever since I was a child, ice cream has been one of my favorite things. I’m not sure I would ever be able to give it up!

What is something that might surprise us about you?

I grew up playing the flute and taking excelled visual arts courses, in addition to my dance training. I ultimately pursued ballet, but I love all forms of art and still dabble in them from time to time.
