Sabrina McGrath

Sabrina is a Peak Pilates® Comprehensive Certified Instructor, which focuses on Classical Pilates technique with some Contemporary influence. She is also certified in teaching Pilates for Lyme Disease.

A midwest girl from Cleveland, OH, Sabrina has been a fitness enthusiast since the early 90’s, having experimented with many types of programs. It was her mother who first introduced her to Pilates, when they regularly worked out together in their home gym. When Sabrina moved to D.C., she met a friend who was studying to become a Pilates instructor. After a year of practicing Pilates and experiencing the difference it made in her mind and body, she was hooked, and signed up to become an instructor herself!

Sabrina has learned that Pilates not only strengthens the mind/body connection, but also helps to rehabilitate the body and prevent injuries later in life. Pilates isn’t just a form of exercise, it is a way of life; something she strives to teach all of her clients.

What is your favorite thing about being a Pilates teacher?

I love being able to help people through the Pilates principles: concentration, centering, control, breathing, precision, and flowing movement. These six principles are the framework for our Pilates practice, and I like teaching my clients to incorporate these six principles into their daily lives.

What is the one thing you cannot resist?

I cannot resist grabbing my two adorable daughters and giving them a big hug and kiss.

Have you ever met anyone famous?

Being a waitress at the Dubliner, I have met lots of famous people. Some that I can remember: Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Steve Miller, Danny Devito and the entire cast from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Sally Field, Keanu Reeves, and many politicians—from House of Rep. to Presidents.
