Julia Hughes

Julia Hughes is a Peak Pilates® Master Instructor whose style of teaching tends toward Classical, focusing on exercises, order, and transitions for a total mind, body, spirit workout.

A Southern California girl with Midwest roots, Julia took her first Pilates mat class in 2008 after a running injury left her looking for a total body workout that wouldn’t put stress on her knees. Her first mat class had her hooked, and her subsequent equipment classes at Studio BE Pilates sealed the deal!

Among the many things Julia loves about Pilates is the way in which the exercises work for every body at every stage. Her joy comes in sharing her love of Pilates with her students and watching them grow in their practice. When she’s not teaching Pilates, you’ll find Julia sharing fun and laughter with her family.

What is your favorite thing about being a Pilates instructor?

My students. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with so many remarkable clients and help them consistently feel better—both physically and mentally—following a session. Nothing brings me greater joy than guiding clients through an exercise they once thought was well beyond their ability. Similarly, I enjoy gaining more specific tools through continuing education courses that help my clients become stronger and accomplish various goals related to their health and overall well-being.

What three traits define you?

Honesty, loyalty, and consistency.
